积极应对人口老龄化[1]战略[2]研讨会[3]在北京(Beijing)召开。人力资源和社会保障部(Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security)社会保障研究所(research center of social security)所长何平提出,我国应逐延长[4]退休年龄[5],建议到2045年不论男女,退休年龄均为65岁。

根据第二次全国人口普查(the second national census)数据,我国是全球唯一的老年人口过亿的国家,2010年我国60岁以上老年人已经达到1.78亿,占全球老年人口的23.6%。这意味着全球1/4的老龄人口集中在中国。

The symposium 'answering to the problem of China's aging population' opened in Beijing. He Pingti, head of the research center of social security at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security said that China is gradually prolonging the retirement age. He suggests that in 2045 the average retirement age for both men and women will be 65 years.

According to data of the second national census, China is the only country with over 100 million old-aged residents. In 2010, the number of Chinese in age 60 and above already reached 178 million, occupying 23.6% of the entire population. This means that 1/4 of the global elder population is Chinese.

He Ping suggests that China starts implementing a policy to prolong the retirement age in 2016. Every two years the age of retirement will be extended by one year. Until 2045 the retirement age for both men and women will be 65 years. Along with the gradual decrease in the working age population, China needs to prolong the retirement age and to increase the training for elderly groups. While the age of Chinese population is higher, the overall level of education of residents becomes lower. Therefore at present China does not have the conditions for prolonging the retirement age.
